Monsoon Pest Problems in Delhi & How to Prevent Them

Mosquitoes, rodents and cockroaches surge in July-September. Here's a pre-monsoon checklist.

Why July–September is peak season

Delhi's monsoon creates three perfect conditions at once: standing water for mosquitoes, high humidity for cockroaches and bed bugs, and rodents driven indoors by waterlogged drains. Pest call volumes triple between July and September across our service areas.

Pre-monsoon checklist (do these in June)

1. Walk your terrace and balconies. Empty any container holding water — flower pot saucers, AC trays, unused buckets.

2. Check window mesh for tears. Aedes mosquitoes (dengue) bite during the day and enter through any 2mm gap.

3. Seal gaps around AC pipe entries with steel wool + silicone. Rats use these openings.

4. Book general pest control before the rains start, not after. Post-monsoon, every pest company in Delhi is overbooked for 3–4 weeks.

What we do differently in monsoon

We switch to water-based residual sprays (CIBRC-approved deltamethrin or lambda-cyhalothrin SC formulations) that don't wash off in humidity. We add larvicide tablets in your overhead tank and stagnant points. For rodents, we move from external bait stations to internal snap-trap grids because the moisture degrades external bait fast.
